What the taximeter charges

The taximeter adds a fixed starting fare and then counts kilometres or time.

How the taximeter counts

It counts kilometres or time, never both at once. It depends on the speed of the car.

Below 20 km/h

The display goes up in steps of €0.10: every 58.8 metres or every 10.6 seconds.

Surcharges

What is added to the taximeter

The driver adds them at the end of the ride and must show them on the receipt.

Motorway tolls

If the ride uses the motorway, the passenger pays the tolls: both for the outward trip and for the taxi's return.

Night and public holidays
From 10pm to 6am and on public holidays, once per ride

Ask the driver for the fixed fare before setting off: the taximeter shows the total price straight away.
It applies when you start from the taxi rank, during its service hours. It does not apply to phone bookings, except from Marghera (Piazza Mercato) and Favaro (Piazza Pastrello) from 7am to 10pm.
Shortest route, no stops or detours. If you prefer, you can ask for the taximeter instead.
“Mestre Centro” is the area between Viale Stazione, Via Piave, Via Circonvallazione, Via Torre Belfredo, Via Fradeletto, Viale Ancona, Via Torino and Via Cappuccina.
“Street pick-up” fares only apply when you hail a free taxi in the street, and only in the direction shown.
